Some core fundamental beliefs and some thoughts on the more common questions I get from people: Government does have a role to play in shaping public policy that supports our individual rights and freedoms while at the same time provide for a sense of security and economic well being. Canada is blessed with land and resources that if managed properly can insure that we can remain the best country in the world to call home. I am a nationalist who believes in Canada first, I love Winnipeg but I believe no matter where a person lives in Canada, we all share common values, national standards and a sense of commonality. This page is NOT COMPLETE It should be noted that below are deep rooted positions that I have but I am open minded to how we manage the need to change the details. For that I am influenced by voters/constituents, political parties and stakeholders. My three priority public issues: 1. Economy and jobs- Canada is a trading nation and it is critical in every way that we take advantage of our diversity and rich heritage. By doing that Canada can lead the world in trade on a per-capita basis. 2. Canada’s health care system is a part of our national identity and we need to make sure it is there for future generations. The “Canada Health Act” sets the ground work but I do believe there is a need for more accountability. 3. Crime and safety - people have a right to feel safe in our communities and homes. This is an area that the different levels of Government must work closer together in order to get better results. When someone commits a crime there must be a rea consequence. 4. Education and training- I believe in lifelong learning and understand how it is important for us to invest in education and training/retraining.
